What information is available on institutional owners?
Beneficial owners with mapping to groups within the beneficial owners
Percentage owned
Aggregate power

Our Activist Investors’ database contains SC 13D/G filings that are required within 10 days of when an activist investor takes a position in a company. Normally these filings will state the reason for the acquisition and include a letter to management where the activist investor states their demands.
How can we use the institutional ownership information?
The institutional ownership information indicates which funds have invested in a public company and their stake in that company. As they increase and decrease over time, you can identify the churn in ownership of the company and if IRS Section 382 rules kick in for any company. You can follow an individual company and track funds who take positions in them.
